Rekindling My Fire: Embracing My Journey Into Menopause Coaching

ree

Where It All Started

I have always been a caregiver at heart. As a registered nurse, I spent years supporting others through health challenges. I loved what I did but decided I wanted to step in to help people before the health challenges started. I started instructing spin and then became a personal trainer. I was strong, active, and motivated - or at least I thought I was. Then one day, things started to shift.

At first, I brushed it off. After all, COVID had hit me pretty hard - but that was almost a year ago at this point. A little fatigue, a missed workout here and there, a few restless nights. But then the fog rolled in - my energy plummeted, sleep was elusive, my body felt foreign, and I just didn't feel like "me" anymore.

The Struggle No One Prepared Me For

Perimenopause hit me like a slow-burning wave. Not all at once-but steadily, deeply. Weight would not budge, and it was going to places it never went before. My usual workouts left me drained not energized. Every spin class I taught just wiped me out, when I was used to teaching 3 a week and feeling great. I was struggling with my strength training- never had in all the years I have been training. I felt like I could never have enough sleep. My mindset, once unshakable, felt fragile. I was frustrated, overwhelmed, and honestly- a little lost.

All the knowledge I had as an RN and personal trainer was not helping. No one was talking about this in a way that felt real. All my bloodwork was normal so my OBGYN said I would be fine; I was not anywhere near menopause. Most advice felt outdated, generic, or completely disconnected from what I was living.

The Turning Point

One day, I realized I was doing everything "right"...and still feeling all wrong. I had a moment sitting on my bed, feeling defeated - and thought: "This can't be how it is supposed to be. There has to be a better way."

That moment lit a small fire.

Rebuilding From The Inside Out

I researched and found a medical professional that really listened to me and made me see that I was going through perimenopause. I started diving deep into the science of hormonal health and found that strength training, nutrition, sleep, and recovery played huge roles in managing symptoms. I explored podcasts and books that actually spoke to women "like me". I trained harder-but smarter. I focused on recovery. I gave myself grace.

And I did not stop at myself. I completed Stacy Sims Menopause 2.0 course and got the Girls Gone Strong Menopause Coaching certification. Using my nursing knowledge and personal experience (as a trainer and in my own perimenopause), I am layering it with the latest, evidence-based approaches to help women thrive through midlife.

Why I Created Rekindle With Kim

I created this space because I know what it feels like to lose your spark-and how powerful it is to get it back.

Rekindle With Kim is more than a business to me. I want it to be a movement - a midlife revival. It is where strength meet self-compassion. Where evidence meets experience. And where women rise together.

Here, we don't settle. We evolve.
